Every leadership or executive team is different. Teams are made up of the unique personalities of their members and shaped by the context in which they operate and the challenges they face. That is why, when working with teams, I spend time understanding the team, its context and the challenges it is looking to solve. This is critical to designing and delivering solutions that drive significant and lasting results.
Trying to work on a team whilst being its leader, or a part of the team, is difficult. A team coach or facilitator can quickly help a team face into the challenges it has and take the transformative steps it needs. It may be a team needs to review its purpose, terms of reference or ways of working; sometimes its about the relationships or roles within the team and ensuring these are productive.
Team interventions can be supported by psychometric profiling or 360 assessments as required.
My work with teams is usually delivered face to face as either one or a series of interventions. The style and length of the interventions are designed with the client to meet the requirements of the team and the goal of the work. As important as the intervention itself is how change is embedded for the long term which is why I always discuss with my clients how we design this into the solution.
Example Team assignments
Interventions start with developing a clear understanding of the team, its context and the purpose of the intervention. This will usually involve conversations with each member of the team and where appropriate, representatives from the People & Culture team.
