Great leaders deliver success and create winning cultures, whether that be measured in financial results, a transformation being delivered, happy customers or engaged and productive teams. Leaders need to be continuously evolving and developing their skills to enable their business to stay ahead of the market.
I'm passionate about ensuring development delivers results and has a lasting positive impact. That is why I bespoke each intervention to the business and those being developed. Focussing on the four steps of Diagnose, Design, Deliver, Embed , and involving the businesses stakeholders at each stage, allows me to do this.
I start by getting to know the business and the key stakeholders and understanding the development needs and goals. If there a definition of leadership or leadership competency framework already in place, I'll ensure the design is congruent with it. I'll want to understand what development has happened already, what type of development works and doesn't work in the organisation, and how best to embed learning to deliver results.
I like to deliver face to face for full day or half day work, and online for shorter sessions. If I am delivering a development programme, each session will open with a section on how well the previous session landed and, importantly, what has changed. At the end of the programme, depending on what's agreed with the business, there may be participant 1-1's, line manager accountability sessions, or ongoing coaching to ensure long lasting change is delivered.
Often is helps participants to understand their current leadership style to have a psychometric portrait or 360 assessment as part of the development.
Most solutions look develop a number of Leadership competencies over a series of sessions.
